Dear Friends, 친애하는 동역자들께,
The River of Life School 생명의강 학교
We continue to be busy getting ready to open the River of Life School in March. We now have our three starting teachers--Topaz Han, Sophia Jung and Koinonia Bae. Please keep them in your prayers as they begin the hard work, with Principal Liz Torrey, of developing curriculum, working out procedures, setting up classrooms, getting equipment and all the other host of things that need to be done. We also have to build a portable kitchen at the school.
내년 3월 개교를 앞두고 한창 바쁘게 준비중입니다. 개교를 위해 세 분의 선생님이 선정됐습니다. 한 토패즈, 정 소피, 배 코이노니아 선생님이십니다. 이분들이 리즈 교장선생님과 함께 교과과정 계발, 교실 준비, 필요한 장비 구비 등 여러 일들을 잘 감당하도록 계속 기억해서 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 또한 학교를 위해 이동식 주방을 마련해야 합니다.
A major prayer request is for permanent living quarters for our two women teachers as well as places for several students who want to come from outside of the area. Jesus Abbey is providing temporary space for the teachers until February, which gives us a little breathing space (but not much!) to find something more permanent. So far, we have not been able to find any real possibilities close to the school.
특별히 더 기도해 주실 부분은 숙소를 위한 것입니다. 두 분의 여 선생님과 태백 외부에서 학교를 위해 이사하시는 가정을 위한 적절한 숙소가 준비되도록 기도해 주시기 바랍니다. 현재 여 선생님들은 2월까지 예수원에서 한시적으로 머물 계획이지만, 장기적으로 안정적인 숙소가 필요합니다.
And, we continue to feel the Enemy's darts and arrows--mostly in little annoying nuisances; fortunately, nothing big. Praise God! It's as if he is not able to launch a serious attack against the school because of God's protection so he engineers minor accidents and the like. (I banged my head on two different doors and slipped in the office a couple of days ago all within a ten minute period. A couple weeks ago, we scraped the side of our new van. It's fixed now but that was a discouragement. Things like that...)
또한 우리의 원수는 계속해서 학교와 관련자들에게 화전을 하고 있음을 느낍니다. 다행히 큰 문제는 아니고 작은 것들이지만... 이로 인해 하나님을 찬양합니다! 학교를 향해 원수는 심각한 위험을 일으키려고 하지만, 하나님의 보호하심으로 작은 일들에 그치고 있습니다. (실례로 저는 이틀 전에 학교에 10분 머무는 동안 문에 두 번 머리를 부딪쳤고, 교무실에서 미끄러졌습니다. 또 이주전에는 새로산 학교차의 옆 면을 긁혔습니다. 수리는 마쳤지만, 우리를 낙담케 하는 일이었습니다. 이와 같은 일들이 이어지고 있습니다.)

Dunamis Advanced Training 두나미스 훈련
Ben Torrey is the Korean representative of PRMI (www.prmi.org), which provides valuable teaching on the the person and work of the Holy Spirit through (among other things) their Dumamis Project. We are committed to sharing the Dunamis Project here in Korea as a blessing to the Church, a means of gaining effectiveness in ministry, a vehicle for greater unity within the Church and as vital for the work in North Korea. In November, we had two weeks of Dunamis Advanced Training at Jesus Abbey to train instructors. We had four instructors and intercessors come from overseas (2 from the UK and 2 from the US) to provide the training. We had over 60 participants, most of whom were clergy and spouses, heads of communities and other engaged in ministry. It was a truly blessed time. We expect it to continue bearing fruit for a long time. We have two more weeks scheduled for June and two after that next November. This will take us through the complete cycle of six Dunamis courses. As a result of this training in November, we are already in the process of preparing regular events to bring Dunamis to churches and any who want to participate. We are planning to do the first course, Gateways to Empowered Ministry, in Seoul in March. Pray for wisdom for Ben as he oversees these developments along with all of his other responsibilities.
벤 토레이 형제님은 PRMI(www.prmi.org)의 한국 대표입니다. PRMI는 두나미스 프로젝트를 통해서 성령의 인격성과 사역에 대한 가치있는 가르침을 제공하고 있습니다. 우리는 한국 교회에 두나미스 프로젝트를 소개하는 것이 교회에 축복이라고 여깁니다. 두나미스를 통해서 교회의 사역의 효율을 높이고, 북한을 위한 사역에 더욱 생기를 줄 수 있습니다. 지난 11월 예수원에서 두 주간 두나미스 교육자들을 훈련시키는 프로그램이 있었습니다. 영국에서 두 분, 미국에서 두 분 강의와 중보기도를 위한 사역자들이 오셔서 강의를 해 주셨습니다. 60명 이상의 목사님과 사모님 등 공동체와 사역의 책임을 맡고 계신 분들이 훈련에 참여하셨습니다. 정말 복된 시간이었고, 앞으로 계속해서 이 사역을 통한 열매가 나타나기를 기대하고 있습니다. 내년 6월과 11월에 다음 과정을 진행할 계획이 있습니다. 이를 통해서 두나미스의 총 6단계 과정을 마치게 됩니다. 11월의 훈련을 통해서 교회에서도 두나미스 훈련을 받고 싶은 사람들에게 두나미스 프로그램을 진행할 수 있도록 준비가 된 셈입니다. 내년 3월에 첫 과정인 '성령 사역의 입문'을 서울에서 진행할 계획입니다. 벤 형제가 다른 많은 책임들과 더불어 두나미스 사역을 잘 감당하도록 지혜를 주시기 바랍니다.
Three Seas Training Center 삼수령 센터
As we launch the River of Life School, we need to turn our focus back to raising funds to build the Three Seas Center that will provide the future home for the school and its community along with other programs preparing for the opening of North Korea. We are pleased with recent progress in putting together the capital campaign but we still have a long ways to go. This is a major ongoing prayer need.
생명의강 학교 개교를 앞두고, 우리의 관심을 삼수령 센터를 세우는 데 집중하려고 합니다. 삼수령 센터에는 생명의강 학교를 위한 영구적인 건물과 북한 개방을 준비하기 위한 프로그램을 위한 건물들이 포함됩니다. 최근에 모금이 순조롭게 진행된 것에 공동체가 함께 기뻐하고 있습니다. 하지만 앞으로 갈 길이 멉니다. 모금은 앞으로도 계속해서 기도해 주실 부분입니다.
As we work on all these things, your prayers and words of encouragement are most important to us.
